The Daniels Family Funeral Homes have been serving the

Burlington and Union Grove communities for more than 60 years.

It is our goal to provide compassionate, professional service

for families at a difficult time of their life.

We encourage our families to plan a service that will be

meaningful and memorable. We take pride in our long

tradition of funeral service.

A long-standing tradition exists uniting funeral homes and furniture stores.
Originally the craftsman who built the "coffin" also made furniture.
We are still directly connected to a furniture store in Burlington.

John Schuette founded the funeral & furniture business in Burlington in 1929. He purchased the Kerkman house on Pine Street converting it to a funeral home. He enlarged and extensively remodeled it twenty years later.

Joined by staff members Marvin Werth in 1940 & Richard Daniels in 1948, the business was incorporated as a partnership in 1954.

After nearly 50 years in business, John and Hazel Schuette retired, and Rich and his wife Doris became sole owners in April of 1975.

Keeping with the tradition of family business, Rich, his sons Matthew,
Marti and his wife Pam, and Mitchell and his wife Kari, and son-in-law
Craig Hancock now operate three funeral homes under the title
Daniels Family Funeral Homes.
Construction on a new larger facility in Burlington was completed in 1991.
The Polnasek Funeral Home in Union Grove was purchased in 1994
and expanded and remodeled in 1995.
In January, 1996, the McCarthy-Koenig Funeral Home in Burlington was purchased and consolidated into the Schuette-Daniels location in 1997.
