John Lowman

Birth date: October 17, 1922
Death date: September 29, 2013

John Lowman passed away September 29, 2013 at the age of 90. He was born in Baltimore, Md., lived in Port St Lucie, Fl. since 1984, coming from Rochester, Wi.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a fighter pilot and flew 50 missions in the P-51 Mustang in China. He was awarded the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross, discharged as a 1st Lieutenant, and served 6 years in the Maryland National Guard as a Captain.

John worked in sales management in the food industry, associated with the Green Giant Co., as well as Tyson Foods. Later in life he owned and operated a Bresler Ice Cream store in the Orange Blossom Mall in Ft. Pierce, Fl. for 14 years with his wife, Shirley.

John was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie, Fl. He served as a Eucaristic Minister, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus #7514 and was also a member of The Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley (nee Kortendick), his son John (Linda) Lowman Jr. of Convent, LA., daughter Linda Mills of Phoenix, AZ., daughter Dorothea Lowman of Spring Valley, CA., ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a sister Jeanne Lowman Seymour, Annapolis, MD.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
